Jazzin at the Shedd

Had a fun filled day, starting with the beach at Foster Ave. It was the perfect day, really breezy but really sunny! So you don't really get sweaty while laying out. The downside is that because you don't feel hot, you're more likely to burn. Which kinda happened to me. I'm a little red @_@

Steph took me too this wholesale nail salon in Argyle and I bought 2 Essie nail colors, 2 OPI colors, OPI quick dry drops, and a file block for $25!!! You can't beat that!! I'm not buying name brands like that at Target or Ulta anymore! They even had all the colors of crackle polish and the new Carribean line for OPI, which always seemed to be sold out of the good colors at Ulta. We went to Ba Le for quick snack/dinner. I haven't had bun cuon for so long. I also bought che bop and green xoi (my favorites)! I like che ba mau, but instead of using the tapioca coated water chestnuts, they used red beans and I don't like that as much.

Afterwards, I went straight home to meet my friends, Nirali and Manisha, to go to Jazzin' at the Shedd. First, we ran into this guy:

The coolest dog in Chi-town
This little event Shedd aquarium does every Wednesday night. It was really fun. They had music, cocktails, and you could view all the exhibits, even the new "Jellies" exhibit!! Afterwards, you could go on the terrace and watch Navy Pier's fireworks!!!

The view from the Shedd's terrace

That's a little taste of what I got to enjoy today!

A little bit sun burnt

...from sitting out in the sun today. Milo is munching away on a corn on the cob (cob only for the most part). It is very cute how he lays down and holds the cob between his paws. Speaking of dogs dining... have you seen this video. I would bet probably since it has 4.5 million hits, which makes me a little less embarrassed that I think this video is hilarious!

I'm super excited for Harry Potter 7.2! Tickets are bought, made my bff's also buy them, and I've spent the majority of the day surfing the net of Harry Potter stuff. I love seeing the pictures of them age (like this one). I think Neville's (I don't know what his actual name is) transformation is the most surprising, in a good way. Counting the years since I first read The Sorcerer's Stone, I was 12 and in 6th grade, it's been more than 10 years of my life, so basically half. i.e. a big part of my life. It will be really sad for it to end, however, I'm excited for Pottermore. Hopefully that will fill the HP void in my life after the movie series is done. I bought every Harry Potter book in the series, however, I only seem to have half of them... How you lose a HP book is beyond me? It's like a small baby, especially the hardbacks towards the end.

I've had a few small checklist items I've yet to really get done since the summer has started. I've had a yoga/pilates 5 class groupon for awhile and I need to use it. Especially because it expires at the end of the month, and I'm moving out of the city soon. There's a ton of options for different types of classes. I'm really into vinyasa yoga, but I really haven't tried much else. I do it one or two times a day depending on the day (i.e. my level of activity or boredom). I've tried about a twenty different at-home DVD's and programs and there's only a couple that I really enjoy. One of them is the Body by Bethany yoga workout, oddly enough. I first found it on Comcast's OnDemand and loved it. It's a perfect mix of flow yoga and positions you hold. The other one I liked is Body Works Slim Yoga. I don't like the instructor at all, but the workout is great, a little more cardio than Bethany's. I haven't done a public class yet, and I'm a little self-conscience about not be able to do some poses perfectly, especially the balance poses. However, yoga has no ego, so I'm just gonna have to relax and not care. For now, namaste.

Hopelessly unemployed...

I just graduated and am looking, looking, looking for a job. Somehow I graduated with a chemical engineering degree whilst working all five years during school with summer classes in between. So I feel like a good, no nothing summer while I do my job search. It's been great so far, but I feel I have way too much time on my hands. Therefore, I thought I would start a blog, again. In the past, I've had blogs and a few different websites. Who knows what this one will be filled with? Probably a lot of pictures of my sweet westie, Milo.

Yes, that is my little terror.

I've got some big happenings this month... First on the list is, but of course, the final Harry Potter movie! And the next large checklist item is moving back home, little by little. My high school room needs a grown up upgrade. It's hard to let go of some stuff though. For now, I'm waiting until I completely move back in to see what needs to be done and what exactly I have to work with. For now, looking for those full-time jobs! Good thing the nations unemployment is at an all-time-high, 9.2%. Note: I need a sarcasm font. I seem to have missed the small and diminishing window to find a job right after I graduated. The window when the economy was "getting better." I just gotta get through it like everyone else!
